Samuel Kassegne, Ph.D., P.E., holds a doctorate degree in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Dr. Kassegne is currently a Visiting Scientist at the Henri Samueli School of Engineering of the University of California - Irvine. Up until December 2002, he had worked as a principal engineer with the Advanced Technology Group at Nanogen in San Diego on various micro devices characterization, design and simulation. Between 1996 and early 2001, he was the Manager of the Finite Element Applications Department at RAM International, a leading structural engineering software firm. While at RAM International, Sam wrote the award winning FEA program, RAM Frame? which currently enjoys a user-base of about 15,000 engineers and architects in the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Currently, Sam is also a faculty member of University of California Extension where he teaches Principles and Practices of FEA and Modeling of Micro and Nano Devices to practicing electrical, mechanical, structural, industrial, geo-technical and bio-medical engineers.
