This course provides an in-depth exploration of the design, production, and application of Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) in both structural and architectural contexts. Engineers, architects, and contractors will learn about UHPCs unique properties, including its high compressive and tensile strengths, durability, and ductility, as well as its use of fiber reinforcement. The course covers critical topics such as material batching, casting techniques, curing methods, and quality control for manufacturing UHPC elements. Participants will explore architectural applications, including complex shapes, perforated panels, and lattice structures, alongside the economic and environmental advantages of using UHPC in infrastructure projects such as bridges, facade systems, and urban furniture. Practical case studies, including mega architectural projects like Stade Jean Bouin and MuCEM, demonstrate how UHPC enables innovative design and performance in modern construction. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials. NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public.
