Helen Chen, Ph.D., PE This course provides a review of significant changes to Florida laws and rules affecting the practice of engineering, including Chapter 471, Chapter 455, and Chapter 61G15, enacted during the most recent biennium (January 2023 January 2025). It also presents a summary of recent disciplinary actions published by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. Through real-world case studies and scenarios, students will gain a clear understanding of the implications of noncompliance with applicable laws and rules, including penalties for failing to meet continuing education requirements. This course fulfills the mandatory one-hour requirement on Florida laws and rules for professional engineers as part of the 20252027 biennium continuing education cycle. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials. ![]() NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public.
