Florida Laws and Rules for Engineers (Biennium Cycle 2025-2027)

Helen Chen, Ph.D., PE

This course provides a review of significant changes to Florida laws and rules affecting the practice of engineering, including Chapter 471, Chapter 455, and Chapter 61G15, enacted during the most recent biennium (January 2023 – January 2025). It also presents a summary of recent disciplinary actions published by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. Through real-world case studies and scenarios, students will gain a clear understanding of the implications of noncompliance with applicable laws and rules, including penalties for failing to meet continuing education requirements.

This course fulfills the mandatory one-hour requirement on Florida laws and rules for professional engineers as part of the 2025–2027 biennium continuing education cycle.

This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
