An Introduction to Water Treatment

This course will provide an introduction to water treatment processes and technology. You will be introduced to factors to consider in selecting water treatment processes, preliminary treatment, aeration, coagulation and flocculation, sedimentation basins, filtration, fluoride adjustment, taste and odor control, water softening, iron and manganese control, and corrosion and scale control in water treatment plants and distribution systems. You will learn about water treatment processes, terminology, treatment plant layout and equipment. This course will give you a foundation that will help you to address water treatment plant design, construction and operation and maintenance issues.

The course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
