Achieving water quality is a goal that is shared by several if not most U.S. municipalities. There are several ways to prevent and control urban runoff pollution some of which will be discussed in this course. This course will provide the reader with the practical knowledge to implement an urban runoff pollution prevention and control plan. Environmental protection laws will also be discussed. Case studies are provided to illustrate to the reader how the information learned has been used on real-world projects. This course material is based on the document Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention and Control Planning, as published on the website of the United States Environmental Protection Agency. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
