This course is the fourth learning unit associated with the topic of the investigation and rehabilitation of constructed buildings and structures, and Part III of the Investigation of Historical Structural Systems. The course then includes a detailed discussion of the methods of construction and analysis of the following historical structural systems:

• Historical wrought and cast iron systems
• Historical rolled sheet and corrugated iron systems
• Historical structural steel framing systems
• Historical brick masonry systems
• Brick arch framing systems
• Historical open web steel joist framing systems


This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
