Besides meeting specific requirements, such as education, experience, and examination, engineers and land surveyors must get familiar with the state laws and rules in order to practice engineering. This course helps the New York licensees review the Board's Laws and Rules contained in New York Education Law Article 145, Board of Regents' Rules Part 29 - Unprofessional Conduct, and Commissioner's Regulations Part 68 - Engineering and Land Surveying. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
*Note to New York licensed PE & LS:
The acceptable continuing education subjects for NY PE/LS include the study of law, rules and/or ethics which contribute to the professional practice in engineering and land surveying. In addition, you need a minimum of one hour of training in professional ethics in each triennium. This course will help you satisfy that requirement.
This course overlaps with R401W (4-PDH version). So please attend either R401W or R408W, but not both in the same renewal cycle.
* Note: This course cannot be used to satisfy other statesÂ’ PDH requirement in their Board Laws & Rules.
