To perform engineering and/or land surveying service in the state of New York, one must get familiar with the Board Laws and Rules pertinent to the professional service. Parts of New York Laws covered in this course are Articles 15 and 15-A of Business Corporation Law, Articles 12 and 13 of Limited Liability Company Law, and Article 145 of Education Law. Part 29 Unprofessional Conduct - Rules of the Board of Regents and Part 68 Engineering and Land Surveying - Commissioner's Regulations are also included along with some of the frequently asked questions. In addition, brief case summaries are presented for recent violations and the disciplinary actions taken by the Board. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials. All quiz questions are reviewed during the webinar. You are guaranteed to pass this quiz.
*Note to New York licensed PE, LS, and RA:
The acceptable continuing education subjects for NY PE/LS/RA include the study of law, rules and/or ethics which contribute to the professional practice in engineering, architecture, and land surveying in the state of New York. In addition, you need a minimum of one-hour training in professional ethics in each triennium. This course will help you satisfy that requirement.
This course overlaps with R401W (4-PDH version). So please attend either R401W or R402W, but not both in the same renewal cycle.
* Note: This course cannot be used to satisfy Floridas 1-PDH requirement in Florida Board Laws & Rules. (You need to take Course R209 for that purpose).
