Remember the days when you had the luxury of managing a single project? You could focus all of your time and attention on the success of your project. In most organizations, these days are over, and if we manage projects at all, we manage portfolios of them rather than one at a time. The course describes the concepts and challenges faced within the multiple-project environment. In this course, project managers and other professionals will find useful techniques and tools for selecting, organizing, planning and executing multiple projects. A five-step process is described for managing multiple projects as a portfolio. Basic principles of project management are extended to enhance their application to the special challenges of the multiple-project environment. Some key concepts of identifying and managing inter-project risks are also covered.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
