The course introduces the application of Monte Carlo simulation techniques to project schedules to estimate a probability-weighted range of possible completion dates. Project managers and investors often use Monte Carlo simulation to quantify the risks inherent in project economics or investment portfolios, and the same techniques may be applied to analyze and manage project schedule risks. Building upon a simple point-case project schedule, the course applies stochastic modeling tools and techniques to generate a closer approximation of real-world results through Monte Carlo simulation.
