Introducing Building Transparency & Its Suite of Open-Access Tools and Programs (1-Hour Webinar)

Stacy Smedley, LEED Associate BD+C

The building and construction sector is responsible for 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions – much of which can be attributed to embodied carbon. Building Transparency is a nonprofit founded to help facilitate embodied carbon reduction in the building industry by providing the open-access data and tools necessary to enable broad and swift action.

In this session, executive director Stacy Smedley will share more about the nonprofit and its suite of solutions helping arm building industry professionals with the information they need to set achievable carbon reduction targets, select low-carbon materials, and reduce the sector’s overall impact on climate change. She will highlight the organization’s cornerstone tool, the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3), which is a free and easy-to-use tool to empower users to benchmark, assess and reduce embodied carbon. Learn more about the tool and the nonprofit’s mission!

Keller North America provides a wide range of geotechnical engineering and construction services to improve soils in-place and to both construct new and rehabilitate foundations. The techniques that will be discussed include Compaction & Jet Grouting, Embankment Stabilization & Excavation Support, Vibro Compaction & Replacement, Micropiles and Pile Driving. Within our range of services, a Ground Modification solution is generally available for the toughest subsurface conditions.
