Join ASCE Miami-Dade Branch Geo-Institute for a presentation and site tour of the deep excavation for the 64-story Brickell Fire Station building that is under construction in Downtown Miami. The presentation will be given by Mr. Andres Baquerizo, P.E. of Keller. The presentation will cover how an approximately 40-foot-deep dry excavation extending below the water table, was achieved using Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) technology, and an explanation of the deep foundations (augercast piles) that were constructed to support the loads of the 64-story structure.
