Emma Migneault and Lee Gabriel Geotechnical Construction includes Ground Modification, Deep Foundations, Excavation Support, and Bottom Plugs for Deep Excavations. Ground modification improves the soil in place, which often affords a distinct economic advantage. Our techniques are used either individually or in combination for pre-construction site improvement, or for remedial work with existing facilities. Deep Foundations bypass soft, compressible zones and transfer the structure's loads to deeper, more competent strata. Excavation Support is becoming more important, as new building sites are typically bordering existing structures. Deeper excavations often require extra measures to control water inflow, such as bottom plugs. Instrumentation systems can provide significant advantages to managing risk, optimizing design, or documenting compliance. Any project, when considering structural or geotechnical instrumentation, needs to be considered in full to make sure installed systems can provide the required data for the project team to make objective decisions through the project lifespan. Monitoring systems may include sensors for vibration, noise, dust, deformation, settlement or heave, strain, and pressure. Advances in instrumentation technology allow for complex remote systems with automated data retrieval, processing, alarm distribution, and reporting. Keller North America provides a wide range of geotechnical engineering and construction services to improve soils in-place and to both construct new and rehabilitate foundations. The techniques that will be discussed include Compaction & Jet Grouting, Embankment Stabilization & Excavation Support, Vibro Compaction & Replacement, Micropiles, and Pile Driving. Within our range of services, a Ground Modification solution is generally available for the toughest subsurface conditions.
