Martin McDermott, PG & Robert Ross, PE A drilled shaft can go by a number of different names including Bored Pile, CIDH Pile, Caisson, or Drilled Pier depending on the location in which you are working. Drilled shafts are Kellers biggest revenue stream in North America and around the World. In addition to being used across the globe, they are used for all sorts of structures ranging from signposts and light poles to the worlds tallest buildings and largest bridges. In short, a drilled shaft is a deep foundation element constructed in a drilled hole that is stabilized to allow controlled placement of reinforcing and concrete. Keller North America provides a wide range of geotechnical engineering and construction services to improve soils in-place and to both construct new and rehabilitate foundations. The techniques that will be discussed include Compaction & Jet Grouting, Embankment Stabilization & Excavation Support, Vibro Compaction & Replacement, Micropiles, and Pile Driving. Within our range of services, a Ground Modification solution is generally available for the toughest subsurface conditions.
