ENERGY STAR® labeling of the building is an effort by US Environmental Protection Agency to help mitigate the societys impact on the environment and climate change. The process requires Professional Engineers to validate each statement of Energy Performance that is used to apply for the Energy Star label.
This 2-hour course is intended to assist the PE community in understanding the requirements of the Statement of Energy Performance, the Data Checklist, and the expectations and limitations of the PEs role in the ENERGY STAR labeling process.
The course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public. NY Board does not accept courses related to office management, risk management, leadership, marketing, accounting, financial planning, real estate, and basic CAD. Specific course topics that are on the borderline and are not acceptable by the NY Board have been noted under the course description on our website.
