Building-integrated photovoltaic electric power systems not only produce electricity, they are also part of the building. A wide variety of BIPV systems are available in today's markets. Most of them can be grouped into two main categories: facade systems and roofing systems. The primary intent of this course is to provide architects and designers with useful information on building integrated photovoltaic systems in the design briefs included in this course.
This course is based on the document Building-Integrated Photovoltaic Designs for Commercial and Institutional Structures - A Sourcebook for Architects.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
