In order for the United States Federal Government to buy supplies and services, and to determine the acquisition strategy, the Federal Government prepares an Independent Government Estimate (IGE). An IGE is also known as an Independent Cost Estimate (ICE). The intent of this course is to provide an introduction to the IGE so that a proposed offeror can understand why and how the estimate is prepared and its use within the Federal Government. While the information is from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the concepts apply to all agencies of the Federal Government.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
