John C. Huang, Ph.D., PE Almost everyone will experience disabilities at some point during his/her life. This course is designed to provide you with a basic understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA). Besides the history of ADA, you will learn what constitutes a disability, who is a qualified individual with a disability, and what might be reasonable accommodations for a disabled individual. In addition, you will become familiar with various federal laws related to disability rights. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials. NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public. NY Board does not accept courses related to office management, risk management, leadership, marketing, accounting, financial planning, real estate, and basic CAD. Specific course topics that are on the borderline and are not acceptable by the NY Board have been noted under the course description on our website. |
