Lee Layton, PE This 5-hour course is the third in a series about conductors used in the electric utility industry. This course deals with medium voltage underground cables which include voltages between 5 kV and 35 kV. Each component of a medium voltage cable is described in detail including the conductor, insulation, metallic shields and jackets. The course describes how to calculate relevant data such as inductance, capacitance, ampacity, and short circuit capability. Installation and design calculations are including for pulling cable in conduit. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
