Lee Layton, PE This course is divided into three volumes. Volume I described the systems engineering process and included an overview of system engineering and delves into requirements analysis, functional analysis, design synthesis, verification, and process outputs. Volume II explains the analysis and control functions of system engineering which includes work breakdown structures, configuration management, technical reviews, trade studies, modeling, metrics and risk management. Volume III discusses system engineering planning, organizing, integration, and contractual considerations for large projects. This volume is a five hour course that discusses analysis and control tools that provide balance to the process. Key activities - such as risk management, configuration management, and trade studies - that support and run parallel to the system engineering process are identified and explained. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials. NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public.
