H. Wayne Harper, PE The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was created by the United States Congress in 1971 as a federal agency in the Department of Labor. OSHA's mission is to assure the safety and health of America's workers by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach, and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual improvement in workplace safety and health. The appropriate response in a timely manner is critical to protect the health and/or life of affected employees. Affected industries include the following: This course focuses on the necessary preparations and training requirements pursuant to various emergencies and their applicable responses. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
