H. Wayne Harper, PE Enter the fascinating worlds of the natural gas and hydropower industries and discover intricate details of their environmental permitting processes. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Office of Energy Projects (OEP) has established a voluntary program which enables Applicants seeking certificates for natural gas facilities and licenses for hydropower projects to fund a third-party contractor (3PC). Specifically, the 3PC would facilitate the environmental permitting process by assisting the OEP in reviewing various aspects of the applications and preparing the environmental documents required by the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA). Depending upon the potential project impacts, the required environmental documents would be Environmental Assessments (EAs) or Environmental Impact Statements (EISs). The depth of information and detail within the course is comprehensive and well suited for engineers, consultants, and planners seeking to initiate or broaden their understanding of natural gas and hydropower projects. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials. NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public.
