ePDH Course Provider Biography
Mr. Warden received his BSCE from The Ohio State University in 1979 with his major fields of study in geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, and hydrology. He began working with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in the Division of Water, Dam Safety Section. He performed inspections, evaluations, designs and construction inspections, eventually involving over 1,000 dams. By 1986 he took the position to head the In-House portion of the Abandoned Mined Lands (AML) Engineering Section for ODNRs Division of Reclamation. Since 1997, he had been working as the engineer for the AML Emergency Program. By 2003, he has had either design or direct supervisory control of over 1,000 different AML projects in the State of Ohio. He taught the engineering portion of a 4 day course on drilling and grouting techniques, and in 2006 the course was also presented to the U.K.Coal Authority in Mansfield England.
After retiring from ODNR in September of 2006 he has established his own company to specialize in stormwater issues, solutions to abandoned mined land problems and continuing education programs. He was also requested to return on a part-time basis to create and implement the ODNR, Division of Mineral Resources Management, Coal Bonding Performance Security Estimate. By 2009 the spreadsheet was complete and is in use as of 2016.
Mr. Warden is a past President of the ASCE Central Ohio Section, and was
awarded the Outstanding Civil Engineer of Central Ohio award for 2005-2006.
